Reservation process

Q: What details do I need to know during the reservation process?
A: Obviously you will need to know the complete name, address and birthday of the renter (in which the reservation will be kept) as well as the rental period and approximate time of arrival and departure. If you arrive by airplane and do not have yet your inbound and/or outbound flight number and/or exact time, you can advice us later by sending us an email. We also will send you an email, asking you to inform us about your flight number and arrival time, one week before commencement of the rental.

Q: How do I make a car hire reservation?
A: We have designed a quite simple way of making an online reservation which is divided in 5 easy steps. First of all, if you have already a customer or travel agents account, make sure you are logged in. Then simply follow the online quote/reservation instructions. At the end of the process you will receive your personal reservation number and final instructions.

Q: Can I modify/change an existing reservation?
A: Yes; however, modifications may cause rate changes. Car rates can change daily, or even hourly, so changes you make to your reservation after confirmation can affect the original rate.

Q: Is there a difference between the Online Quoting System and the Reservation System?
A: No, it is absolutely the same. For receiving the correct price for your unique rental, we first need to know the basic rental information (rental period, car group, extras, etc…) to show you instantly the correct rental price. When you like the price you see, you can immediately advance with your reservation. Simply complete the next steps where we ask you for your personal details.

Q: Do I need to inform you about my credit card details?
A: No, if “Payment on arrival” selected, we will not ask you for it. If “Prepayment” selected (lower car rental rates – only available for certain locations) we will ask you for your credit card details. At the time we are asking, we will use 128 bit encryption technology (SSL) to transmit the sensitive data securely.

Q: Do I need to inform you about my driver’s license number or passport number?
A: We optionally will ask you for these details, but it is not mandatory to inform us. We ask you for these details to accelerate the finalization process at the rental location, before receiving the car.

Q: What documents will I need during the online reservation process?
A: If you choose to pay the rental price when arriving you will need any documents at all. But to speed up the delivery process at rental location, we optionally ask you for your driver’s license details and passport details.

Q: Do I need a valid credit card to rent with you?
A: Algarve Rental does not require any credit card to accept your reservation but certain car rental supplier companies require a valid credit card which has to be shown before receiving your rental car. If this is the case, we will inform you within the rental confirmation.
